Post Graduation Summertime Fun-ness

So I am done with school officially. I have the piece of paper and the ceremony was fun so there it is! I've had some time to relax, just being doing summertime activites like riding bikes and lazing about by ponds and parks. I just finished an awesome gig with my band Lake Street Dive (myspace.com/lakestreetdive) at the Iowa City Arts Fest and am off to L.A. to continue more work on my solo record. Hopefully (fingers crossed!!) we will finish it all up this week and make plans for getting it out there. I also have some sweet gigs coming in New York and Indiana that you can check out on my myspace page - myspace.com/rachaelclaireprice.
It is strange to be out of school and have so much free time but things are starting to pick up and I can start living the life of a full-time musician. How glamorous. All my wonderful musician friends are doing great things too and I feel the need to plug their musical activities. My good friends in the band Cuddle Magic just finished a recording and you can hear some tracks on myspace.com/cuddlemagic- it's a must-listen-to. Meanwhile I'm obsessed with the new Fiest record and can't wait to get out on the road ad play glorious music. More to come when more happens. Holla!

Recently, I was at a conference at LouHelen Baha'i School. I heard a Ava sing. I mentioned that I heard you sing at Michigan State University and she smiled and had good things to say about you and your singing. At the conference, Ava previewed a song that may be in the upcoming Baha'i movie--? Anyway, congratulations on your graduation. Have fun this summer!

Hi, Rachael. I'm currently at Louhelen, leaving in a few hours. Congratulations on graduation and on your wonderful career. I want to talk with you about doing a program in CLeveland for our annual Ridvan Celebration - next April. I'll get in touch with you when I get home.
Love,
Barbara

Hi Rachel! I met someone with whom you went to conservatory--she's studying for a master's here at Michigan State University--Lani Smith, and she's getting married soon! Happy belated Birth of Baha'u'llah and Happy Thanksgiving in advance. Sorry that I am unable to offer you a gig singing, as I am as unfamiliar with jazz, except through my father, as I am with being a florist. I'm into progressive rock/instrumental/vocals, myself. Someday, if my father ever puts words to his sole jazz piece, "Nameless", I could send it to you? Keep smiling!
